According to the American Association of Poison Control Centers, of the 57,493 reported chlorine exposures nationwide:

• 66% were attributed to sodium hypochlorite
• 25% to calcium hypochlorite
• Only 9% involved gas chlorine

The data clearly shows that gas chlorine accounts for the smallest share of reported exposures.
